Well its been a while since I shared my view from the lawn

This is mostly becasue the lawn has changed.  I am now a Minnesotan....Funny thing is..this State may be even more screwed up than Wisconsin.  I mean really..Al Franken???????

But I will not touch on any political topics today...there will be fuel for that fire every day I fear.

Life on the Lawn is good despite the obvious political turmoil.  New home, New Job..New relationship..a whole new point of view for this humble lawn boy.

And..I have just reconnected with a very good old friend...He is waiting, not so patiently, for a heart transplant...it throws a whole new perspective on everyday petty little problems.

Please consider organ and tissue donation..Save a life.

Thank you Mr. Pesrident.  For the first time in my life I am actually embarrassed to be an American.

Gordon Brown, Prime Minister of Great Britian, made the first official state visit to the Obama white house.

As is tradition, the Prime Minister selected some gifts to present to  the President.  Highly symbolic gifts that included an ornamental oak pen holder carved from timbers from the Victoian anti-slave ship, the HMS Gannet and a framed commission  of the HMS Resolute, sister ship to the Gannet from which a desk was carved that has graced the Oval office since 1880.  The symbolism and historic significance of these gifts is obvious. Celebrating the triumph of an African American being elected President and overcoming the horrors of the history of slavery, etc,etc.

Interesting gift, well thought out, heavy with import and meaning.

What you ask did Hussein give to Mr Brown?  

A collection of 25 DVDs of classic American films , including  The Wizard of Oz, ET, and Star Wars.

The man, and the Nation, give you a gift hand carved from one of the most famous vessels in the world,that shaped the course of history, and you give him a crappy box of movies?  Was this a left over Christmas present that they re-gifted? Or a calculated insult?

Not even a Netflix card so the Browns can send them back and get new ones when they are done watching these.

I wonder if they know that American DVD's most likely wont even play in England because of the regional codes built in to the players

Setting aside for the moment all the horrible domestic policies  of bailout, phony stimulus, housing fraud bills etc etc etc, Obama had not to this point really done anything outside of the US.  Foriegn Policy is my passion  in as far as what the President  really does, everything else he has done so far violates the Constituition anyway, but now he has in effect insulted,alienated and embarrassed our oldest and dearest ally and friend in the international community.

All through the campaign we were told that Hussein was by far the most intelligent man with the highest IQ that had ever run for President, so obviously he can't possibly be this stupid, can he???

That means this can only be a purposeful insult.  Good job!

I have friends who are British citizens..I don't even want to speak to them now I am so embarrased to be an American today.

Every day the outlook for the USA gets darker and gloomier...and this angers me to no end..but it also saddens me greatly.  The finest nation on earth is being systematically destroyed, not by a foriegn invader, but by the duly elected officials of its own government.

Obama the Narcicist

Dr. Sam Vaknin is an Israeli psychologist.  Interesting view on our new president.

 

Dr. Vaknin has written extensively about narcissism.

 

Dr. Vaknin States "I must confess I was impressed by Sen.Barack Obama from the first time I saw him.  At first I was excited to see a black candidate.  He looked youthful, spoke well, appeared to be confident - a wholesome presidential package.  I was put off soon, not just because of his shallowness but also because there was an air of haughtiness in his demeanor that was unsettling.  His posture and his body language were louder than his empty words. Obama's speeches are unlike any political speech we have heard in American history.  Never a politician in this land had such quasi "religious" impact on so many people.  The fact that Obama is a total incognito with zero accomplishment, makes this inexplicable infatuation alarming. Obama is not an ordinary man.  He is not a genius.  In fact he is quite ignorant on most important subjects." 

 

Barack Obama is a narcissist.

 

Dr. Sam Vaknin, the author of the Malignant Self Love believes  "Barack Obama appears to be a narcissist."  Vaknin is a world authority on narcissism.  He understands narcissism and describes the inner mind of a narcissist like no other person.  When he talks about narcissism everyone listens.  Vaknin says that Obama's language, posture and demeanor, and the testimonies of his closest, dearest and nearest suggest that the Senator is either a narcissist or he may have narcissistic personality disorder (NPD).  Narcissists project a grandiose but false image of themselves.  Jim Jones, the charismatic leader of People's Temple, the man who led over 900 of his followers to cheerfully commit mass suicide and even murder their own children was also a narcissist.  David Koresh, Charles Manson, Joseph Koni, Shoko Asahara, Stalin, Saddam, Mao,Kim Jong Ill and Adolph Hitler are a few examples of narcissists of our time.  All these men had a tremendous influence over their fanciers.  They created a personality cult around themselves and with their blazing speeches elevated their admirers, filled their hearts with enthusiasm and instilled in their minds a new zest for life.  They gave them hope!  They promised them the moon, but alas, invariably they brought them to their doom.  When you are a victim of a cult of personality, you don't know it until it is too late.  One determining factor in the development of NPD is childhood abuse. 

 

"Obama's early life was decidedly chaotic and replete with traumatic and mentally bruising dislocations," says Vaknin.  "Mixed-race marriages were even less common then.  His parents went through a divorce when he was an infant (two years old).   Obama saw his father only once again, before he died in a car accident.   Then his mother re-married and Obama had to relocate to Indonesia, a foreign land with a radically foreign culture, to be raised by a step-father.  At the age of ten, he was whisked off to live with his maternal (white)grandparents.   He saw his mother only intermittently in the following few years and then she vanished from his life in 1979.  She died of cancer in 1995". 

 

One must never underestimate the manipulative genius of pathological narcissists.  They project such an imposing  personality that it overwhelms those around them.  Charmed by the charisma of the narcissist, people become like clay in his hands.   They cheerfully do his bidding and delight to be at his service.   The narcissist shapes the world around himself and reduces others in his own inverted image.  He creates a cult of personality.  His admirers become his co-dependents.  Narcissists have no interest in things that do not help them to reach their personal objective.   They are focused on one thing alone and that is power.   All other issues are meaningless to them and they do not want to waste their precious time on trivialities.  Anything that does not help them is beneath them and do not deserve their attention.

 

If an issue raised in the Senate does not help Obama in one way or another, he has no interest in it.   The "present" vote is a safe vote.  No one can criticize him if things go wrong.  Those issues are unworthy by their very nature because they are not about him.  Obama's election as the first black president of the Harvard Law Review led to  a contract and advance to write a book about race relations. 

 

The University of Chicago Law School provided him a lot longer than expected and at the end it evolved into, guess what?   His own autobiography!   Instead of writing a scholarly paper focusing on race relations, for which he had been paid, Obama could not resist writing about his most sublime self.  He entitled the book Dreams from My Father. 

 

Not surprisingly, Adolph Hitler also wrote his own autobiography when he was still nobody.  So did Stalin.   For a narcissist no subject is as important as his own self.   Why would he waste his precious time and genius writing about insignificant things when he can write about such an august being as himself?  Narcissists are often callous and even ruthless.   As the norm, they lack conscience.  This is evident from Obama's lack of interest in his own brother who lives on only one dollar per month.  

 

A man who lives in luxury, who takes a private jet to vacation in Hawaii, and who has raised nearly half a billion dollars for his campaign (something unprecedented in history) has no interest in the plight of his own brother.  Why?  Because, his brother cannot be used for his ascent to power.

 

A narcissist cares for no one but himself.  This election is like no other in the history of America. The issues are insignificant compared to what is at stake.  What can be more dangerous than having a man bereft of conscience, a serial liar, and one who cannot distinguish his fantasies from reality as the leader of the free world?  I hate to sound alarmist, but one is a fool if one is not alarmed. Many politicians are narcissists.  They pose no threat to others...They are simply self serving and selfish.

 

Obama evidences symptoms of pathological narcissism, which is different from the run-of-the-mill narcissism of a Richard Nixon or a Bill Clinton for example.  To him reality and fantasy are intertwined.  This is a mental health issue, not just a character flaw.  Pathological narcissists are dangerous because they look normal and even intelligent.  It is this disguise that makes them treacherous. 

 

Today the Democrats have placed all their hopes in Obama.   But this man could put an end to their party.   The great majority of blacks have also decided to vote for Obama.   Only a fool does not know that their support for him is racially driven.   This is racism, pure and simple.   The downside of this is that if Obama turns out to be the disaster I predict, he will cause widespread resentment among the whites..

 

The blacks are unlikely to give up their support   of their man.  Cultic mentality is pernicious and unrelenting.  They will dig their heads deeper in the sand and blame Obama's detractors of racism. This will cause a backlash among the whites.

 

The white supremacists will take advantage of the discontent and they will receive widespread support.   I predict that in less than four years, racial tensions will increase to levels never seen since the turbulent 1960's.  

 

Obama will set the clock back decades... America is the bastion of freedom.  The peace of the world depends on the strength of America, and its weakness translates into the triumph of terrorism and victory of rogue nations.  

 

It is no wonder that Ahmadinejad, Hugo Chavez, the Castrists, the Hezbollah, the Hamas, the lawyers of the Guantanamo terrorists and virtually all sworn enemies of America are so thrilled by the prospect of their man in the White House. America is on the verge of destruction.  There is no insanity greater than electing a pathological narcissist as president.

ITS SPRING LAWN CARE TIME!!!

Its time to think about the lawn again.  If you live down south you may have daffodils and tulips in bloom as well as some of your shrubs.  Thei is also the time you need to be applying your Annual Grass pre-emergent to keep crabgrass and other annual grasses from invading your lawn.  Here in the north where I live  we may still be 8 weeks away from applying but  we should be thinking about it.  If you care for your own turf..the products you will need are or will be on sale soon.  If you use a service it's time to make sure your first visit is scheduled.

WHY DOES THE MARKET KEEP GOING DOWN...THE STIMULUS BILL ISN'T SAVING US

Wall Street investers understand that the policies being implemented, creating trillions of dollars of debt to throw money at a bunch of pork projects we don't need that do not create jobs or stimulate the economy in any way are not the answer.

They know that Obama/Pelosi are destroying  the economy and the nation not saving it.  Hey..these are the rich guys...the smart guys...they didn't get there by falling off a turnip truck into a pile of cash....I tend to side with them......I think you should too.

And?..Every American should want Obama to fail, Every American who loves this country and what it stands for and what it was founded on already does..Every Amercan who has ever read and understood the Constitution has been praying for Obama to fail for a long time.  This is not news its COMMON SENSE

BULLSHIT!!  No business is ever too big to fail. Banks, Auto Makers, it doesn't matter. Failure is a part of business. and fear of failure is a great motivator. Risk versus reward is the foundation of capitalism and a heathy economy.  eliminate any chance of failure and you also eliminate any incentive for success...Frankly we need some of these entities to fail, we need some of these homes forclosed on and we need to get back to a logical order in the economy--not an artificial, state supported fiasco.  Do we want the entire country to function like AMTRAK??

Entitlement, Customer Service, and Magic Words

I hear a lot of complaints about the level of customer service that people get. Clark Howard, the radio money guru, likes to use the term customer no service to describe bad experiences with CSR's. And admittedly there are surely plenty of examples of bad customer service to go around. Anyone who has ever been caught in one of those automated AVR, press 1 for English systems surely knows this.

But I submit to you that we are in fact spoiled and that we actually get fantastic customer service most of the time.

Fewer and fewer of us work in industries that actually produce anything. How may widgets did you make today? How much raw material did you use? Nothing? Really? Well then unless you were slacking off, you probably work in a service based occupation

We live in an era of tremendous specialization. Unless you live on a self sustaining family farm you probably do your job for money and then use that money to buy goods and services. We all know what goods are..if you can hold it in your had..its goods. So..consequently everything else must be services. Everyone from your hairdresser to your plumber to yes, even your lawn guy are providing services. Service based industries are vital to today's economy. The Information Systems Analyst either doesn't want to, doesn't have the time to, or doesn't know how to take care of his lawn. This is great for me..I make a living doing it for him.

Let's think about that. If you are in business and you are not manufacturing something, what do you have to sell. Service, plain and simple. And if your service is no good, well your customer will find someone who does it better and you will soon be out of business. For this reason if no other I say that the level of service today in our world is at an all time high.

SO WHY THE PERCEPTION OF POOR SERVICE? I believe that the entitlement culture has instilled a belief that a person should be able to get whatever he wants, whenever he wants and it should be perfect every time. I know that when I am at work I can bust my hump, do the best possible job and that only serves to meet the absolute minimum expectations. Anything less than perfect has our office phones ringing with complaints. I know it is winter in Wisconsin, but God forbid anyone should get a wet foot because the snow wasn't cleared in front of the Arby's in time for lunch..

By now you must be wondering, what does Bob mean by Magic Words. C'mon, you all know the magic words. Everybody's mom taught us the magic words. Yes...Please and thank you. When is the last time you thanked someone who was serving you in some way? I don't mean an off hand, over the shoulder as you hurry out, under your breath thank you, but a real sincere Thank You. A look them in the eye and really mean it thank you. An I'm glad you did this for me because I couldn't do it myself, or I don't have time, or it is unpleasant and I don't want to do it myself thank you.

Now some of you may say, well its his/her job, he/she gets paid to do it, that should be enough. Well I want to tell you that yes, what I do is my job, and I do get paid to do it. And most of the time that is enough. But every once in a while it is nice to know that someone somewhere appreciates the effort you put out. It can really make a person's day, especially if that day has been a frustrating one for whatever reason. It renews your spirit and makes you want to give your best to everyone. Everyone gets better service that day.

So I am asking that you take the time each day to give a real and sincere thank you to someone who provides you with a service. And if it is especially good service, tell them. If everyone did this once a day you would be amazed at how the level of service across the board would improve.

Just something to think about.

WELCOME TO THE LAWN

Congratulations on reading my very first BLOG entry.  Who am I and why am I here?  well I'm just an average guy with strong opinions.

Why write a BLOG.  well people keep telling me that I am funny, intelligent and articulate and I have a lot to say, so I should write a BLOG.  I'm kind of tired of hearing it so I am now a blogger. I will leave it up to you, the reade,r to decide if I am funny, articulate and have a lot ot say.

What can you expect to find here?  Whatever is on my mind today..perspective from ground level on anything from how to lawn care tips to the systematic destruction of our country by Obama, Pelosi, and the rest of the socialists.  Where this BOLG goes is truly up to natural evolution--or God's will, depending on which side of THAT fence you are on.
